Friendship can appear in the most unexpected places.

Inside the story

A shortcut through the woods changes everything.

Noah and his little sister, Katie, are supposed to stay on the path to Grandma and Grandpa’s house. But the shortcut through the woods is faster—even if Katie insists it is haunted.

When a white shape appears between the trees, their ordinary walk becomes an unforgettable adventure. The ghost they meet has bare feet, plenty of questions, and a surprising amount to learn about friendship, video games, and family fun.

Along the way, Noah discovers the simple fun of old-fashioned board games—a roll of the dice, laughter around the table, and time spent together without a screen.

A playful story about looking beyond first impressions, making room for a new friend, and discovering that old things often carry stories, memories, and a little magic of their own.
